What is a drive-up unit?

This simply means that the storage unit is accessed from an outside door and located on the first floor of the facility. These units give customers the ability to drive their car right up to the space, park in front, and then unload their belongings directly from their vehicles to their storage spaces. Abilene Self Storage offers a variety of drive-up unit sizes.

Can I transfer to a different unit in the facility?

Yes, and transfers are free of charge!

What are your hours?

Our property manager will be able to assist you at our main office, 283 N. Willis St., during normal business hours, Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (closed from 12:00 - 1:00).

Units inside the gated area are accessible from 6:30 am - 8:00 pm every day. Units outside the gated area have 24 hour access.

Do I need insurance?

The items you store are not covered by our insurance. You may want to check coverage with your homeowner's or renter's policy. It is your responsibility to insure the contents of your unit.

What are my payment options?

Payments can be made in person, mailed, or called in. We accept cash, money order, check, or debit / credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). You can also sign up for automatic billing. With automatic billing, your credit card is charged on your due date.

When is rent due?

Your due date is determined on the day you rented the unit. Example: If you rent a storage unit on the 15th your payment due date will always be on the 15th. There is a ten day grace period.

Is a deposit required?

You will not be required to pay a deposit or administration fee at execution of the lease. Just provide a valid drivers license and the first month's rent to get started.

How long is the lease term?

Abilene Self Storage offers month-to-month leases, meaning no long-term commitment.

Do I have to give a vacating notice?

No notice is required. Just call the day you move out and we won't charge you for any further use.

Do you have dumpster access?

No. All garabage must be removed by the tenant.
